ABOUT UNTANGLED MIND

Therapy, with more intention.

Untangled Mind combines individualized psychotherapy with thoughtful assessment, clear clinical formulation, structured treatment planning, and ongoing measurement. The result is care that remains deeply personal while giving both of us a clearer understanding of what we’re working on, where treatment is going, and whether it’s helping.

Confidential. Compassionate. Results-focused care.

ABOUT

Good therapy requires more than a good relationship.

Connection matters. So do clinical reasoning, direction, and accountability.

The goal isn’t to make therapy more complicated.
It’s to make the work clearer, more responsive, and easier to evaluate.

THE UNTANGLED MIND APPROACH

Structured &
Intentional
Care

Counseling at Untangled Mind is defined by precision, intention, and accountability—not volume or trend-driven care. I maintain a deliberately limited caseload so treatment can remain individualized, clinically responsive, and focused on meaningful progress.

Treatment begins with careful assessment and case formulation, followed by a clear plan built around your specific needs and goals. Cognitive, behavioral, somatic, and trauma-focused interventions are integrated based on what the clinical picture requires, not simply a diagnosis or a predetermined protocol.

Progress is measured throughout treatment so we can identify what is changing, what remains stuck, and when the plan needs to change with you.

Structure provides direction. Clinical judgment keeps the treatment individualized.

WHAT GUIDES OUR WORK

Philosophy.
Mission.
Vision.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Untangled Mind™, counseling is intentional, structured, and grounded in responsibility. Insight should lead to action, and compassion should be paired with clarity.

Therapy is collaborative and evidence-informed, guided by assessment, clinical judgment, and the individual. Effective care addresses the cognitive, physiological, behavioral, and meaning-making dimensions of anxiety and trauma without reducing a person to a diagnosis or an endless narrative.

We honor depth without indulgence and structure without rigidity.

OUR MISSION

Untangled Mind™ delivers integrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults navigating anxiety and trauma through structured, intentional care. We combine comprehensive assessment, skill-based intervention, and individualized treatment planning to support clarity, resilience, and meaningful progress.

Care should have a purpose, a direction, and a path forward.

OUR VISION

Untangled Mind™ exists to offer a thoughtful alternative to modern counseling trends through care that is deliberate, grounded, and clinically meaningful. We envision counseling where depth is protected, clarity is prioritized, and treatment is structured to support meaningful change.

Effective therapy should honor the complexity of the person and the responsibility of the work.

THE FRAMEWORK BEHIND THE CARE

Untangled Mind™ Pathway

At Untangled Mind, I practice as an Integrative CBT Clinician. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy provides the backbone of my work, while complementary methods from trauma research, neuroscience, and somatic regulation allow treatment to respond to the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

The Untangled Mind™ Pathway is the framework that brings those pieces together. Treatment begins by establishing safety and foundational needs before progressing into regulation, attachment, cognitive and behavioral work, trauma processing, and ultimately, applying those gains to life beyond therapy.

In less clinical terms: we work deliberately. Treatment considers not only what you think and feel, but how your nervous system responds, what patterns keep you stuck, and what your brain and body need to integrate change.

Integrative Cognitive-behavioral strategies are incorporated with bottom-up practices such as interoceptive awareness, somatic regulation, and titrated trauma processing. Regular assessment helps us measure progress, identify what still needs attention, and adapt treatment as you grow.

The Pathway provides structure without turning you into a protocol; a clear roadmap for moving from understanding the problem to creating meaningful, lasting change.

My work extends beyond individual clinical practice. I advocate for a counseling field that is more accountable for what happens after a client walks through the door: where treatment has identifiable targets, clinicians measure whether care is working, and access to therapy is paired with attention to outcomes.

That work includes clinician education, development of measurement-based care systems, professional training, and engagement with leaders and policymakers around improving behavioral healthcare quality. The same principles shape Untangled Mind: thoughtful assessment, deliberate intervention, measurable progress, and the expectation that good therapy should help people move forward.

Better access matters. Better outcomes matter too.

Meet Piper Harris

Piper Harris, LPC
Headshot

Hi, I’m Piper Harris, LPC.

From the time I was four years old, I knew I wanted to be a counselor. That calling has stayed with me my entire life. I’ve walked through my own seasons of anxiety and trauma, and I understand how heavy life can feel, even when you’re doing everything “right.”

After a hiatus that began in 2003, I found my way back to this work through a winding path that included owning a fitness studio and working as a private chef. Those experiences, along with being married for over 20 years to a law enforcement officer (now retired) and raising two teenage sons, taught me a lot about resilience, real-life stress, and what people actually need to heal.

I created Untangled Mind because I believe therapy should be more than just talking in circles. I’m direct, practical, and deeply committed to helping people experience real, measurable change. When I’m not in session, you’ll find me lifting weights, writing, spending time with my family, practicing my Catholic Christian faith, or working on the Untangled Mind Pathway™.
